Poetry Time is an 18+, LGBTQ+ creative writing group dedicated to providing its community with the space and resources it needs to express itself. Functioning almost like a poetry workshop, Poetry Time is a monthly group where creative minds can get together and climb those personal hurdles. Too shy to share your poetry? While you won't be forced to share here, we can help you start small until you find your voice. Get stuck and don't have any inspiration? Monthly prompts will be given out to help bring a fresh perspective to your writing time. Or maybe you just want to read and learn about poetry, we'll do that too! If you can't make our monthly meetings, you can also swing into our discord server for a more text based approach.
And if you're worried about being critiqued, we will only ever offer critiques when asked, and critique should NEVER be about if a poem is 'good' or 'bad'. Critiques in this group will only be about a person's interpretation about the piece, and given only when asked for.
Poetry can be healing! It can also be very silly! Maybe this, right here, is a poem in itself! Either way, if you want to get back into poetry, start writing, or even just curious about it, pop into our monthly Zoom meetings.
