Testimonials
When I moved to the area, I didn't know anyone. I heard about Qmmunity and found everyone to be so welcoming and supportive. It is nice to be among people who are caring and understanding. The Pride Center is such a valuable community space and being part of a queer space has been important in my personal development as a queer woman."

FabuFit"I first came to Oasis over a year ago and instantly felt welcomed. Within the past few months, I felt the strength to come out to my parents and introduce my non-binary partner to some of my family. I used to not have any support and waited a long time to live a life that honors my trans-genderqueer and pansexual identity. I feel so much more pride in who I am, every aspect of it. Meeting new people who can accept themselves helped me to realise I am trans and that being genderqueer or pansexual is valid. I think it is not only important to be around people like you, that understand what you’ve been through, but also people that are like you just simply doing things together."

Button"Places like the Pride Center, accessible venues for public gathering that are free and non-exlusionary, are precious and I am deeply grateful for the social connections PCNJ has fostered for me over the years. I would be a lot more isolated without it."

Button"Growing up, I was a deeply-closeted bisexual. My family was generally unsupportive and I was afraid that coming out could risk my physical and financial well-being. Even after coming out, I still had difficulties dealing with unresolved queer, gender, and sexuality issues in my life. Attending the Pride Center gave me a way to meet queer friends and develop the confidence that I never had growing up. The Center hosts a ton of different events, which are all run by a kind, welcoming, and fun community. Visiting the Pride Center was one of the best decisions I made, and I believe that some of these new friendships will last for life."

Button"Oasis has provided me with a warm and safe space that I can explore the intersection of my diversity: in queerness, and in being a person of color. I'm so, so grateful that this community helps me discover the intense depth of such a crucial part of my identity."

Button"Oasis has been an invaluable way to connect with QTPOC in NJ. I came into my queerness later in life and did not have an opportunity to build a queer community in close proximity to me. Oasis has provided a wonderfully welcoming, laid-back and diverse community, providing opportunities to not only share experiences but also to have fun. I feel that I'm really getting to know new people."

Button"When I first attended the NJ Furries group, I didn't really have anyone to relate with and felt like a total loner. However, I met so many kind people whom also became close friends of mine. Thanks to them, I'm glad to finally be a part of something I enjoy!"

Button“Meeting with like-minded people at the Non-Binary Pals group, who empathically shared their similar experiences, helped me to find my alignment as non-binary transmasc. I gained more confidence to start medically transitioning and initiate consults for top surgery. Being part of True Selves and Latebloomers helped me find further emotional support. I had come out few years before I started visiting PCNJ, but I found incredible strength when I saw how the facilitators and others in the groups were not afraid of being their authentic selves. I am proud of the work PCNJ is doing to help others on their own journeys proudly live more fulfilling and happy lives as their true selves.”

Button"PCNJ has provided an excellent space for me to be my truest self surrounded by other queer people who have common interests and experiences. Not only are the events fantastic, but I have also bonded with other members and regularly hang out with them outside of the groups. I highly recommend checking out PCNJ if you are looking for a good queer space!"

Button"Ace and Aro Space is the first ace space I’ve ever been in that actually discusses ace issues and makes all types of aces feel welcome, valuable, and listened to. A wonderful group worth cherishing."

Button"PCNJ is one of the first places where my gender was affirmed and respected in a large group setting. It helped me find local community and feel more confident using my pronouns. Additionally, engaging with folx of diverse ages, genders, and sexual orientations broadened my perspective on different life experiences, alleviating feelings of isolation."

Button"I started attending Spectrum in August and it has truly changed my life. I've struggled socially for my entire life, and found most groups to be inaccessible or overwhelming, but Spectrum is a place where I've been able to find community without feeling like I have to hide parts of who I am. I've made so many friends there, and everyone has been really accepting and accommodating. I'd recommend it for any neurodivergent looking for a cool and supportive community."

Button"The Pride Center has been a lifesaver for me. When I moved up here for graduate school I was incredibly depressed, knew almost no one, and was scared to be a baby trans all alone in NJ. However, through the Pride Center, my life has turned around. I made friends through Qmmunity and other game groups which gave me a sense of community. Because of the encouragement and validation from everyone, I got the courage to start on HRT and come out to my family and academic peers. And, after going through a rough patch in my personal life, the Pride Center helped me reconnect with old friends and make new ones through the support group Spectrum, which helps me feel understood as a person. I am so appreciative of everyone at the Pride Center for making me who I am today."
